Black Lotus can be found on the North side of the Northdale lake where the water elementals are in Eastern Plaguelands. I have also seen it spawn in 2 different spots in Plaguewood of EPL, mainly in the enclosed ruins where the bubbling cauldrons are.Comment by Chandrialla

I just thought I'd mention that black lotus will spawn in only one location in a zone at any given time (the different locations can be seen on the maps above) and that it has a 60-70 minute respawn timer. Because of the respawn timer, it's not too difficult to dominate the spawns in one continent if you're keeping track of how long before a zone has a black lotus spawn. I will mention that I've seen a couple times where the lotus respawned sooner, but generally, I found a 70 minute respawn to be true.Comment by Hansol
These can be used to make Flasks, these flasks are very powerful potions and only one flask can be on at a time. Flasks last two hours and persist through death. They are very hard to make and require the Black Lotus which is fairly hard to get.Comment by Darkelf
Yea most of us/you would say Black lotus is hard to get but I don't agree.Black Lotus is really rare but anyway it spawns always on the same place. I have 2 locations in epl and every like 60 minutes I m getting 2 of them . One black lotus is from 10 to 15 gold on ah so getting like 6 or 10 per day makes you really rich.To be honest I dont know for other location , mine is epl and I m satisfied with it .Comment by 13914
i can definately confirm that there are 10 spawns per zone (burning steppes, eastern plaguelands, silithus and winterspring) and only one black lotus can be up per zone at any one time. the spawn time on black lotus is exactly 60 minutes. i suggest you get 'gatherer addon' if you plan on farming this because it marks what herbs you get and where you got them and also has a timer so you know when to check all the spawns for black lotus. just keep checking each spawn and you'll eventually get it..just check all 10 spawns every 60 minutes and you'll easily get tons of black lotus daily.Comment by 37322

The black lotus is necessary for all potions called 'flasks'.These potions are incredibly powerful. And they also continue after death. I am not completely sure, but i think that the black lotus has a 48 hour respawn timer.

Playing WoW for over a year I found one in my whole 'game' life. Located in EPL, Plaguewood. Found it while killing mobs for AD rep. My current herbalism skill was 270-280, so I roamed through plaguelands for hours to skill it up to 300 to come back and pick it up.BL goes around 6-9g per flower on my server.

I found both of mine that i have in Burning Steepes. One in 'the pillar of ash' which is sountheast of the spot where Gor'tesh spawns near the Dragonkin . And the other west of Blackrock Mountain near the temple, can't remember the name of the area, but it's the most northwestern area on the map. Hope this helps. As at 1 Apr 06, respawn is quite short.I picked a BL from the *same node* in times much less than the 48 spawn time listed below. It was under 3 hrs when I noticed the spawn was up again.

Just worth noting if you are using the default Gathermate_2 Data, it is INCORRECT for Eastern Plaguelands, EPL .This is because gathermate data is based on the WOTLK version of EPL which is squished a little bit to make room for the Death Knight starting zone.

Black Lotus scarcity has been consistently among the top issues we’ve seen player feedback about, so we’ve decided to update how we handle Black Lotus spawns. Since the launch of WoW Classic, the game has used the spawn times and locations from original World of Warcraft, but population and social factors have led to Black Lotus being much more scarce than it was in original WoW. While these issues affect all mining and herb nodes to some degree, Black Lotus is especially affected because it has the special property of only having one spawn up at a time in each of the zones it spawns in.
In original WoW, designers planned Black Lotus around a technical limitation – only 10 spawn locations per node type could be active at the same time in the same zone. We no longer have that limitation, but it gives us a design intention that we can work with: Black Lotus was supposed to spawn in the widest variety of locations, while there could only be one up at a time in each zone. As always, our goal is to minimize differences from original World of Warcraft, and we feel this is a case where we can follow that design intention in a way that is warranted by modern conditions as well as beneficial to players.
We’re going to increase the spawn rate of Black Lotus, and we’re going to add many additional possible spawn locations in each of the Black Lotus zones. With a different hotfix, we’re working on making it so that a player cannot see a Black Lotus on-screen or on their minimap if they’re dead, unless they have 300 Herbalism.
We’ll have all of these changes noted for you in the next Hotfixes Update that follows them going live.
